The Here and Now

Today I was inspired by this Dale Carnegie quote so I walked into the backyard, camera in hand, and snapped a few quickies before coming in and immediately uploading them. And since I am pressed for time on this Tuesday afternoon, I will simply let the photos speak for themselves, along with a few more from the past couple of days that were still on the card. I love this time of year, when fall begins to wander in as summer hangs on for one last breath.

My Hydrangeas didn't bloom all spring or summer long (I think it was due to a late spring freeze) but suddenly this one rose up and said "don't count me out yet".  I love nature's little surprises.

My little Dachsie angel is beginning to rust. I love the way it glitters tones of gold and copper when the sun hits it just right.

These last blooms are still hanging on...

And the leaves they are a turning.

Dracen ran his first 5K with two of his cousins Saturday night. I am amazed at how that boy runs because I have no idea where he gets it.

Cooling down after the race. These two (Dracen and his cousin) were neck and neck the whole race, crossing the finish line side by side. They placed 43rd and 44th overall (out of nearly 300 people of all ages). And their other cousin/twin brother wasn't very far behind. Color me impressed, kids.

Last night's game under a cotton candy sky.

Rejoicing,
