Well, have you?

Writer's Workshop assignment from Mama Kat at Mama's Losin' It!

4.) Begin each line of your post with “have you ever”.
(inspired by Vikki from Live. Laugh. Pull Your Hair Out)

Have you ever worried that a watermelon vine was going to grow in your belly or out of your ear or rearend because you accidentally swallowed a seed? What can I say? I was a naive kid.

Have you ever said something that you regretted immediately after the last word passed through your lips?

Have you ever looked back on a situation and wished with all your heart that you would have put those feelings into words and actually had the nerve to speak them when you had the chance?

Have you ever eaten a pineapple and mayonnaise sandwich?

Have you ever been swimming in a freezing cold creek?

Have you ever wished you could sing like Whitney Houston?
 shake your booty like Beyonce?
strike a pose like Madonna?

Have you ever experienced divine intervention?

Have you ever made a wish on a falling star?
or an eyelash?
 or your birthday candles?

Have you ever tasted play-doh because you just had to know if it tasted as good as it smells? it doesn't

Have you ever fed a giraffe?
 swam with stingrays?
kissed a dolphin?

Have you ever looked out over the ocean, or mountains, or a beautiful sunset or rainbow or moon and felt so in awe by the beauty of it that it made you feel closer to God?

Costa del sol

Have you ever fantasized about being just sick enough (but not too sick) to be hospitalized for a week or so just so you could get a break from your life?

Have you ever written a letter to someone and never mailed it?

Have you ever noticed that some people are never happy or satisfied no matter how much they have?

Have you ever really felt you needed and wanted to cry more than anything in the world but just could not make the tears come?

Have you ever fought back tears with everything you had but couldn't stop them from coming?

Have you ever stared at your reflection in a mirror for so long that you no longer recognized yourself?

Have you ever met someone for the first time and felt that you had somehow known them forever?

Have you ever lied to keep the peace or save your pride?
or someone else's pride?

Have you ever worn a pair of red heels or boots?

Have you ever wondered how your life would be different if only...?

Have you ever had the thought that everything in life happens for a reason
or that God gives us tests?

Have you ever envisioned your future 80 year old self looking back on her life and being satisfied with the way she lived it, mistakes and all?
all the time...keeps me grounded or in some moments, less restrained...I really don't wanna let ol' granny down. :)

  3. Visiting from Mama Kats....

Loved this ... although now I'm going to develop a huge fear of swallowing a watermelon seed and having it grow out my butt!! : )

I love how took this from silly to profound. Well done.

  5. As sweet as this post is, I keep being reminded of that song, "strokin".
I need to refocus and read, again. My mind is officially in the gutter.

I will say that I never realized I would ever be so proud to get such an amazing glimpse into your life as God has worked. Or, wished that I could be more like you in the way you love and enjoy life. You are an amazing woman.

  6. What a greta post! I think I have said something I wished I had not before I wish I could swim with a doliphin and get a dolphin kiss! I do feel God all around when I am by the water and in nature. By the way, I used to have a car with no air conditioning or radio for a year. Those are things to really appreciate! Have a great day!

  8. Thanks for peeking at my blog today. I thought I would swing by and "be still a minute...", I will definitely be popping by more often.

Great post! I love the pictures, especially the last one of the woman's reflection in the mirror. I do feel all that GOd allows us to go through molds us and shapes us (refines us if you will) into the finished product that only He can see. May I always remember that His ways are not my ways and that He is good... all the time, no matter where this road of life may bring me.
    Blessings!

  9. I think this is my favorite Mama Kat post today, really!

But a pineapple and mayo sandwich? I'll just skip that one :)

  10. I loved this posted! And seriously, as a child I was traumatized by the whole watermelon seed situation. Now I wonder, why watermelon? Why did no one fear growing apples or oranges?
New follower, stopping by from Mam Kat's!

  11. I'm shamefully admitting that yes, I thought that watermelons would grow out of my ears and yes, I have eaten play-doh. How can something that smells THAT good, taste THAT bad?!

  15. I have experienced divine intervention, on several occasions, in a big way. These turned out to be turning points in my life. I'm so happy to have found you. Thanks also for visiting my little corner of the blogosphere.

  16. Love your list.

The smell of Playdoh makes my dad sick but I would bet we've almost all tried it once or twice (cause some of us don't learn the first time).

  17. Absolutely love this! And can relate to alot of it. Sitting by the ocean- seeing it in all its grandeur- always makes me feel closer to God and makes me realize that my problems are never as big as I imagined.

Found you from Lady Bloggers and glad I did!
