For your Friday...

Some news to be sad about...
Did you hear? Hostess is going out of business.   No more Twinkies? No more Ding Dongs? No more Snowballs?  Say it ain't so!

A drink to enjoy...
I met three of my oldest (not that they are old because that would make me old) friends from high school for a long overdue shopping and lunch visit last Sunday afternoon, and although I had already eaten and I rarely drink cocktails anymore, I tried a Winter White Martini (On Sunday afternoon? I know, so naughty of me) at Bonefish Grill. I highly recommend it.  And...they have the recipe for it right on their website.  How very thoughtful of them.

A sale...
Pottery Barn Kids is having a 20% off sale right now on several of their quilts.  Both my boys have PB quilts on their beds and they are excellent quality.  I have washed Dracen's several times and it just looks and feels better with each wash.

An article to read...

Something yummy to bake...
Old fashioned gingerbread

A smart manifesto from Jeff Goins...

A brilliant quote by Brian Andreas...
"Time stands still best in moments that look suspiciously like ordinary life."  So right. And so  true.

For your fancy or to give as a gift...

  1. Do you know I've never had a martini? Maybe I need to check that off the list before the New Year. And I used to take Relevant magazine. Maybe they have that article on their site? And no I hadn't heard about Hostess. So very sad.

  3. We do not have a pottery barn here!!!
And I don't know when the last time I ate a twinkie was. Probably years...but of course I will be craving one when they're long gone. Reminds me of the movie zombie land.

  4. Did you know that my mom worked in the Hostess factory here in town years ago. I remember those pink "fuzzy" looking delicacies:)

I need to check out the bangles!

All of pottery barns quilts, comforters, duvets are soooo soft!
