Dear Mr. Gibson

Dear Mr. Gibson,

I've never been one of those crazy stalker people who puts celebrities at a higher esteem than anyone else and while I always thought you were easy on the eyes (especially in Braveheart!) and a pretty decent actor,  I never gave you much thought.

That is until you directed Passion of the Christ in 2004.  That movie made me want to know a little more about you and I found that you had been married to the same woman for a very long time and that you were a Christian and a family man.

 I was impressed.

And trust me, I'm not easily impressed.

A lot of Hollywood celebrities are into crazy Scientology crap, like that freak on a leash, Tom Cruise.  Now don't get me wrong, he's an excellent actor but he was dead to me when he went psychotic on the Oprah show by cuttin' flips off her couch over his hot little lover, Katie Holmes.  It just doesn't get much more nauseating than that!

Anyway, back to you, Mr. Gibson.  I was quite disappointed when I heard that you and your longtime wife had taken a trip to splitsville and even more disappointed when I heard you were hooked up with that much younger octomom-looking girlfriend of yours and then of course you had to go and have a love child with her.

I was willing to overlook all of this and remain a fan of yours because after all, what did I really know about the situation?  Good people do find themselves divorced from time to time and maybe you really did love this Oksana person.

Then I heard the tape...

What the HELL, MEL?!??!!!

I sincerely hope that you are going to AA, Anger Management, getting some serious counseling for your racism and that you are getting back on a first name basis with the man upstairs because you straight up sounded like something out of the exorcist, dude.

Please, for your sake, for your children's sake and for the sake of all that is holy, GET SOME HELP!

The last thing Hollywood needed was one more raging lunatic.  We need Christian role models there and we need them now.

Good luck to you, Mr. Gibson, and remember Philippians 4:13, I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.

Sincerely,

(a once upon a fan in North Carolina)

  5. Amen! I figured Mel was in for some heavy taunting and temptation when he took a stand by making Passion. Really disappointed that he caved into and has become a disgrace and a poor role model for Christians!

  6. He's a trainwreck, and just because someone SAYS they are a certain religion, doesn't mean they actually follow it. That's showbiz, right?

  7. I lost all respect for Mel when he was pulled over for drunken driving and his tirade, remember that on? I questioned his motivation for The Passion of the Christ too.

I haven't spent a dime on anything connected to Mel in quite some time. Good letter.

Practicing good karma by reading the three posts above me on Mama Kat's. Impossible to read them all!

  8. Totally agree. Mel needs help and I hope he gets it. I, too, admired his faith, his commitment to family, his acting ability. I miss the old guy. It's a shame when celebrities blow it, they are role models whether they like it or not. Good post.
